My Story
I started my career as a Software Developer for a Consulting company in Calgary and Edmonton Canada, where I worked on many types of projects from commercial software (Norton), to award winning projects for clients such as (CN Rail).
In the early 2000’s I co-founded a company called Students Achieve Software. We developed one of North Americas first online grade books and learning management system. We grew this business across the US and Canada and sold our business to SRB Education Solutions Inc (Stardyne 2008) , and the technology was subsequently acquired by Power School (Pearson 2016).
In the few years following the acquisition I worked with SRB / Stardyne both on strategic projects such as a modernization platform, I also participated in the acquisition of 2 companies (MIG and L4U Software) by performing technical due diligence and evaluating their software and it’s capabilities / quality.
My next Entrepreneurial experience was with a product called MotivationEngine in 2014 which was an idea I’d been working on for a while. At the time, there wasn’t very good personal habit development technology and I believed that newer Smart Phone push notification and sms technology would be an affective way to provide accountability for personal goals,
