Visgo Kelowna, BC For Okanagan business owners

Get your time back. What would you do with ten hours a week back?Do you run a business with 5 to 50 people — and no deep technical bench? Are you an Okanagan executive who wants more time?

Your time, and your team's. Practical AI and automation for successful Okanagan businesses that don't have a deep technical bench — one step at a time. Personally guided by Ryan Gallagher — a business operations expert with thirty years of breaking problems down and rolling out practical solutions, without redoing everything.

Most owners want the same few things: fewer hours lost to the repetitive work, better quality, and a business that doesn't need them in every decision. AI is simply the most practical way, right now, to get there — one step at a time.

You want to use AI. You don't want to do it wrong, buy the wrong thing, or rip out what already works. That's exactly who I work with — here in Kelowna, one step at a time.

I'll help you, hands-on, put AI to work in your own job — your inbox, your numbers, your decisions — until it's second nature. One-on-one, here in Kelowna. Proficient in 30 days.

  • A successful, established business — 5 to 50 people
  • No in-house technical team to lean on
  • Some of your people already use ChatGPT — but the business isn't running differently
  • You want it done properly, once — not a second time after a vendor leaves
  • You'd rather get your time back than learn a new platform

If that's you, the first thirty minutes are free.

The story, in words, until the film is shot. Press play to hear it read.

Sixty seconds

Meet Ryan.

Who I am, who I help, and why I think operational AI is the biggest opportunity Okanagan businesses have had in a long time.

Start with your goals

What would you do with ten hours a week back?

Most owners I talk to want the same few things. AI is simply the most practical way, right now, to get there.

  • 1

    Your time back

The quoting, chasing, retyping and reporting that fills your evenings — handled.

  • 2

    Your team's time back

Good people doing the work you hired them for, not feeding the admin.

  • 3

    Better quality, fewer mistakes

The same job done the same way every time — and caught when it isn't.

  • 4

    Less hands-on you

A business that runs well without you in every decision.

Where the time goes

Most businesses run on the same eight things.

A plumbing company, a dental clinic, a winery, an accounting office, a hotel, a small manufacturer — different work, the same machinery underneath. That's where the hours go, and that's where we get them back. One step at a time.

  • People

Onboarding, schedules, the questions that come to you because nobody wrote the answer down. Put the answers where your team can find them.

  • Processes

The way a job moves from first call to final invoice. Make it run the same way every time — without you pushing it along.

  • Systems

Accounting, CRM, booking, spreadsheets. Connect what you already own so information moves between them instead of through you.

  • Email

Sorted, drafted, followed up, filed — the inbox stops being the job.

  • Leads

Every enquiry answered, every quote followed up, nothing lost in a voicemail at 7pm.

  • Quality control

Checks that happen on every job, not just the ones you had time to look at — and a flag when something's off.

  • Customer support

The common questions answered instantly, the real ones routed to a person, every one of them on record.

  • Finance

Invoices out on time, receipts matched, month-end numbers you can trust without a weekend of spreadsheets.

Let's work together. We build in a stable, reliable way — without the traditional, expensive maintenance costs. You own what we build: no licence, no retainer — and nothing gets ripped out and redone to get there.
Beyond ChatGPT

Your team already uses AI. Is your business actually running better?

Staff trying ChatGPT on their own is a start. It isn't the same as AI wired into how the business runs — accounting, CRM, scheduling, reporting, the workflows that eat your week.

That second thing is where the return is. And it doesn't begin with an overhaul. It begins with one high-value job, done properly, that proves itself in a month.

How it works

One step at a time. You can stop after any of them.

  1. 1

We understand your goals and your systems

A free 30-minute conversation, then a short look at how work actually flows through your business today.

  2. 2

I assess the opportunities and give you a practical roadmap

What's worth doing, in what order, and what it's worth — or a set of options if there's more than one sensible path.

  3. 3

I help you implement, then hand it over

Hands-on, alongside your team, until it's running. Then it's yours.

No full-time CTO to hire. No consultant on a permanent rate. You keep the capability we build, and the people who run it are your people.
Three ways to engage

Pick the shape that fits. Every one starts with the free consult.

The same free thirty-minute conversation first. From there, one of three shapes — and you can move between them one step at a time.

01

Ongoing AI & technology advisory

A standing seat at your table — monthly or quarterly — so your team makes good decisions about AI, processes and automation, and doesn't buy the wrong thing twice.

Good if you have capable people and want a trusted outside view, not a project.

02

Executive implementation

One-on-one, hands-on coaching for you — or whoever runs the day. We put AI to work in your actual world: your inbox, your numbers, your decisions. Proficient in 30 days.

Good if you want to use AI well yourself before you ask your team to.

AI-first foundation & internal applications

The foundation your business runs on — connected systems, automations, and the internal apps your team actually uses — built AI-first, handed over, and yours.

Good if you know what you need and want it built properly, once.

Meet Ryan

A Kelowna entrepreneur who makes businesses run better.

Ryan Gallagher, sitting outside a shop on a Kelowna street
  • Long-time Kelowna resident. This is home, and the businesses I work with are my neighbours.
  • Local entrepreneur. Has built and led technology companies, from the first idea through to successful exits.
  • Built many businesses and systems — and led them from strategy through architecture to execution. Start-ups to enterprise, across Canada and the U.S. Hands on, start to finish.
  • Breaks complex problems down. Sensor, video and AI platforms that run on real roads today — delivered by getting the operations right, not by heroics.
  • Founder of BackRoadIntel, recently in the news for its road-intelligence work with communities across BC.
  • Building AI-first from the ground up since 2024. I've helped many organizations level up and put a reliable AI foundation in place — the same foundation I run my own businesses on.

I see a business in terms of data and workflow. When you describe what's going wrong, I can usually see where the bottleneck is — because I can see the flow, and I've worked with the pattern before. What I bring to an Okanagan owner isn't a slide deck about AI, and it isn't a developer's view either. It's the judgment to break a problem down, find the practical fix, and roll it out without redoing everything.

I work directly, with a small number of businesses at a time. If we talk and it isn't a fit, I'll tell you.

Technology showcase

From one of Canada's first web-based gradebooks to a fully agentic business.

Thirty years of making businesses run better — five of them my own. Business systems, education systems and databases, and high-tech hardware and software. Here's the arc, and two projects you can see for yourself.

  1. 2000 – 2013

Business systems · education systems and databases

Co-founded StudentsAchieve — one of Canada's first web-based gradebooks — and built it from the original architecture to acquisition in 2008. Then led product and modernization across SRB Education Solutions' K-12 management systems and databases, and founded MotivationEngine, behaviour-change software used from construction companies to universities.

  2. 2016 – 2024

Marketing technology, data and machine learning

Head of Engineering at FunnelEnvy in the Bay Area — machine-learning personalization for enterprise marketers. CTO at Strawhouse, scaling consumer brands with proprietary adtech. Fractional CTO at Clevr, where the platform got up to ten times faster and more stable.

  3. 2019 – now

    High-tech hardware and software

Co-founded Sofia Family — hardware and native software for parental controls across every device. Fractional CTO/CIO at KXI Wildertec, automotive robotics and ADAS. And since 2024, CEO and co-founder of BackRoadIntel — a sensor, video and AI platform run by a fully agentic team.

Fully agentic team and automation

A fully automated hardware-and-software business, built with AI

My latest venture: improving backroad observability, worldwide. Phones and sensors on ordinary vehicles turn every drive into a road record — and the company behind it runs AI-first with minimal headcount, because the operations were designed that way from day one. Everything below is automated, built on my Visgo Framework:

  • Central knowledge, systems and processes
  • Lead generation and customer management
  • Client-facing report engine
  • Project management tools
  • Email automation
  • Quality control
  • System management and devops
Hands-on, complex technical work

High-tech automotive suspension automation

Computer-controlled suspension for extreme off-road trucks — sensors, actuators and control software working together at the speed the terrain demands.

  • A complex product taken from idea to the road — people, process and technology together
  • Where "mostly working" would put someone in a ditch — so the operation had to be right
