Common concerns

Why haven't we done this yet?

I've been talking with a lot of Okanagan owners about AI — successful businesses, no deep technical bench. I keep hearing the same ten things. Here they are, in your words, with my honest answer to each.

I'm worried about doing it wrong.

The first thing I hear, nearly every time.

Fair. There's a lot of noise and a lot of people selling. That's exactly why it starts with one job, done properly — not a transformation. Small enough to be safe, real enough to prove itself.

  2. 02
The business works. I don't want to break it.

    Owners of good businesses.

Good instinct — keep it. Nothing I do starts by ripping out what works. We build on the systems you already own, and change one thing at a time, so what's working keeps working.

  3. 03
    My team isn't technical.

    Almost everyone.

They don't need to be. The best automations I've put in are run by people who'd never call themselves technical. If your team can run the business, they can run this — that's the test I build to.

  4. 04
    Where would I even start?

    The real question.

With the job that costs you the most — time or money. Most businesses run on the same eight things: people, processes, systems, email, leads, quality control, customer support, finance. One of them is eating your week. We start there. The answer is smaller than you think.

  5. 05
We tried something and it didn't stick.

    More often than you'd think.

Usually because it was bolted on, not built into how the work actually flows. I see a business as data and workflow; when you describe what didn't stick, I can usually see why — and it's rarely the tool.

  6. 06
I don't have time to figure this out.

    Every owner.

That's the point. The first step costs you thirty minutes, not a project. If it goes further, I do the figuring out — hands-on, with your team — and you get the time back.

  7. 07
Everyone selling AI sounds the same.

    True.

They do. Which is why the first conversation is about your business, not about AI — your goals, where the hours go, what's worth doing first. If it isn't a fit, I'll tell you.

  8. 08
    Isn't this for big companies?

Owners with five to fifty people.

Big companies have IT departments. This is for the ones that don't. I built a fully automated business of my own, with minimal headcount — the same approach scales down to a shop with six people.

  9. 09
What if it goes wrong after you leave?

The question nobody asks out loud.

You own what we build. Your people run it, it's documented, and nothing depends on me. No licence, no retainer, no expensive maintenance contract — and I'm here in Kelowna if you ever want a hand.

  10. 10
    Our data is a mess.

    Everyone's is.

Finding the bottleneck comes first — and it's usually not the data. We work with what you have, clean up only what the first job needs, and leave the rest alone until it matters.
